How to Deposit XLM on Stellar to XORA

The memo is what credits your XORA account on Stellar. A payment sent without it still succeeds on-chain and arrives unattributable, waiting on manual recovery.

Short answer

Copy both fields from the XORA deposit screen: the Stellar address and the memo. The address gets the payment to XORA. The memo is the only thing that says the payment is yours.

The memo is the routing field

XORA receives XLM into one pooled Stellar account and separates users by the memo carried on the payment. Copy the memo from the deposit screen into your wallet's memo field, not into a note or description that never leaves the wallet.

What happens if the memo is missing

The payment still succeeds. Stellar has no equivalent of the XRP Ledger's RequireDest flag, so a transfer with no memo is accepted by the network and lands in the pooled account with nothing to say who sent it. It is quarantined as an orphan and waits for manual recovery, which is slow and needs your transaction hash. Nothing is lost on-chain; it just is not credited automatically.

Memo type matters too

Stellar memos have types. XORA reads the identifier as MEMO_ID, or as MEMO_TEXT when the text is the same digits and nothing else. A hash or return memo, or a text memo with extra words in it, is not attributable and is treated the same as a missing memo. If your wallet offers a choice, pick the id type.

Send native XLM with a plain payment

This rail credits native XLM sent as an ordinary payment. Other Stellar assets and issued tokens are not credited. A payment to a muxed (M...) destination, or a swap-style operation whose delivered amount is decided at execution, cannot be attributed and is handled as an orphan.

The wallet link that carries the memo

When a deposit address is shown, XORA also offers a Stellar payment link that already contains the memo, so a wallet opened through it cannot drop the field. Lobstr, Solar and xBull register that link type. If nothing opens, copy the address and the memo by hand instead.

When yield is paid

XLM yield settles out of the pooled treasury, so a payout can be queued until treasury reconciliation reports headroom. The displayed rate still applies once it is funded. Rates are shown in the app, are variable, and are not guaranteed.

Always send XLM with the memo from your XORA deposit screen. Stellar cannot reject a payment for missing it, so an untagged transfer arrives unattributable and needs manual recovery with your transaction hash.

Checklist

Open XORA and go to the deposit screen.
Select XLM on Stellar. If the rail is not offered on your account yet, no address is shown and nothing should be sent.
Copy the Stellar address and the memo.
In your wallet or exchange, start an XLM withdrawal on Stellar.
Paste the address, then paste the memo into the memo field and set the type to id if your wallet asks.
Send a small test amount first and confirm it is credited before sending the rest.

Is the memo optional for an XLM deposit to XORA?

Which memo type should I use?

Can I send other Stellar assets or use a muxed address?

Why is a Stellar memo different from an XRP destination tag?

They do the same job with different mechanics. An XRP destination tag is always an integer and the XRP Ledger can refuse untagged payments with the RequireDest flag. A Stellar memo has several types and the network has no way to require one, which is why the memo is the field to get right.
