How to Deposit BTC to XORA
Send bitcoin to XORA on the Bitcoin network. Each account gets its own deposit address, so there is no tag or memo to attach and nothing extra to get wrong.
Open the deposit screen in XORA, pick BTC, and copy the Bitcoin address shown for your account. That address is what credits you: bitcoin has no tag or memo field, so the address alone does the routing.
One address per account
XRP deposits share a treasury address and separate users with a destination tag. Bitcoin works the other way round: XORA derives a separate Bitcoin address for your account and attributes the deposit by the address the coins arrive at. Nothing has to be attached to the transaction, and there is no tag field to leave blank.
Which address you will see
The addresses XORA derives are native SegWit (bech32), so they begin with bc1. Any current wallet or exchange can send to them. Copy the address from the app rather than retyping it, and check the first and last characters after pasting.
Send bitcoin on the Bitcoin network only
Send BTC on Bitcoin itself. Wrapped or bridged bitcoin on another chain, such as a BTC token on an EVM network, is a different asset and is not credited by this rail. Bitcoin also refuses to relay outputs below its dust threshold, so a payment of a few hundred satoshis may never travel at all.
When the deposit shows up
A Bitcoin deposit appears in your XORA balance as soon as the network transaction is seen, which is faster than waiting out a block. The part that has not yet been confirmed is not available to withdraw; it becomes withdrawable once the network confirms it. Confirmation time depends on the fee the sender paid, not on XORA.
If something looks wrong
Keep the transaction id from the sending wallet or exchange. With the txid and the deposit address, XORA support can trace a payment far faster than from a screenshot of a balance.
Send only bitcoin on the Bitcoin network, and only to the address XORA shows for your account. A deposit address belongs to one account; sending to an address copied from somewhere else credits somebody else, and a wrapped BTC token on another chain is not credited at all.
Checklist
- Open XORA and go to the deposit screen.
- Select BTC. If the rail is not offered on your account yet, no address is shown and nothing should be sent.
- Copy the Bitcoin address shown for your account.
- In your wallet or exchange, start a BTC withdrawal on the Bitcoin network.
- Paste the XORA address and check the first and last characters.
- Send a small test amount above the dust threshold first, then the rest.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does a BTC deposit to XORA need a memo or destination tag?
No. Bitcoin has no memo or tag field. XORA gives your account its own Bitcoin address and credits the deposit from that address, so there is nothing extra to attach.
Which Bitcoin address format does XORA use?
Native SegWit bech32 addresses, which start with bc1. Wallets and exchanges that can send bitcoin today can send to that format.
Can I send wrapped BTC from another chain?
No. This rail accepts bitcoin on the Bitcoin network. A wrapped or bridged BTC token on another chain is a different asset and is not credited.
How long before my BTC deposit is usable?
The deposit shows in your balance once the transaction is seen on the network. The unconfirmed portion is not withdrawable until the network confirms it, and confirmation speed depends on the fee the sender chose.
Is the BTC rate the same as the XRP rate?
No. BTC and XRP have separate rates, and the BTC headline is published in the app and on XORA's public facts endpoint. Every XORA rate is variable, not guaranteed, and subject to treasury and reconciliation controls.
