BTC yield rates in 2026
Compare XORA with Ledn, Nexo, YouHodler, and self-custody. Bitcoin does not pay interest for simply holding it. Compare a custodial yield account with keeping your own keys, and separate a lender’s borrowing APR from the yield paid to depositors.
XORA advertises up to 14% variable APY on BTC where enabled in-app. The rate is treasury-subsidised during bootstrap, can change or stop, and is not guaranteed. Deposits are custodial; capital is at risk.

| Platform | BTC rate / status | Custody / route | Access / term | Reward asset | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| XORA | Up to 14% variable APY Where enabled in-app. Treasury-subsidised during bootstrap; the rate can change or stop. Not guaranteed. |
Custodial native BTC; internal ledger balances reconciled against treasury backing. | No fixed term; withdrawal and account controls apply. | BTC; check the live account terms. | XORA yield source |
| Ledn | BTC Growth Accounts retired Ledn says its BTC and ETH Growth Accounts were retired in 2025. Its loan APR is a borrowing cost, not BTC yield. |
Custodial borrowing and transaction accounts; current Growth products concern stablecoins. | Check the current loan or account terms. | No current BTC Growth reward. | Ledn product status |
| Nexo | Up to 5.5% annual interest advertised The BTC product page advertises this maximum. Term, loyalty tier, payout choice, balance and jurisdiction affect eligibility. |
Custodial savings account. | Flexible or fixed term; check the selected offer. | BTC or NEXO, depending on settings. | Nexo BTC Savings |
| YouHodler | Variable; no BTC quote verified The public yield page did not expose a readable BTC-specific rate at this review. Check the rate and cap for your loyalty tier. |
Custodial yield account. | Flexible and fixed options; product-dependent. | Confirm the reward asset in the offer. | YouHodler Yield |
| Self-custody | 0% native holding reward Holding BTC alone does not generate protocol interest. Bitcoin price appreciation is not yield. |
You control the wallet keys. | No platform term; network confirmation and fees apply. | None from holding alone. | Bitcoin FAQ |
Public provider pages reviewed on October 27, 2026. A numeric quote appears only when the linked source supplied an asset-specific figure. Unverified rates and asset availability are marked in the table; verify your own account offer before depositing. This comparison is published by XORA, a provider listed above. It is not an independent ranking. APY includes a compounding assumption; an advertised annual interest rate may use a different convention.
Custody, treasury subsidy and the solvency gate
XORA controls the treasury keys. Your account records an internal BTC balance; a visible treasury address alone does not prove all customer liabilities are covered. The advertised rate uses a finite bootstrap treasury subsidy and should not be read as a permanent return from the underlying network.
XORA checks treasury backing against internal BTC liabilities and applies asset-specific reconciliation, subsidy-budget and risk controls before yield credits or withdrawals. A failed or unavailable check can pause an operation. These controls are not deposit insurance, an independent audit or a guarantee against loss. Withdrawals can be held or rejected by account, treasury, reconciliation and risk controls before broadcast. Network confirmation times and fees also apply. Read the custody and security disclosures and yield source.
Use only the Bitcoin network and the BTC deposit address shown in your account. Wrapped BTC on another chain is a different asset. A rate on this page does not mean deposits, withdrawals or yield are enabled for your account. Check each capability in the app before sending funds.
BTC yield versus keeping your own keys
A self-custody Bitcoin wallet gives you control of your keys but pays no native holding reward. A custodial yield account adds exposure to the operator and its funding model. Bitcoin price changes can outweigh any BTC-denominated return. Do not use a borrowing APR as an earning rate.
Frequently asked questions
Is XORA’s 14% BTC APY guaranteed?
XORA advertises up to 14% variable APY on BTC where enabled in-app. The rate is treasury-subsidised during bootstrap, can change or stop, and is not guaranteed. Deposits are custodial; capital is at risk.
Can I stake native Bitcoin?
Bitcoin uses proof of work. Simply holding native BTC does not earn staking rewards. Products marketed as Bitcoin staking or yield add a separate custody, lending, wrapping or protocol arrangement.
Does Ledn still offer BTC Growth interest?
Ledn says its BTC Growth Accounts were retired in 2025. Current Bitcoin-backed loans charge borrowers interest; those borrowing APRs are not BTC savings yields.
What does the solvency gate check?
XORA checks treasury backing against internal BTC liabilities and applies asset-specific reconciliation, subsidy-budget and risk controls before yield credits or withdrawals. A failed or unavailable check can pause an operation. These controls are not deposit insurance, an independent audit or a guarantee against loss.
Check the account terms before depositing
Estimate earnings first with the BTC yield calculator, then confirm the current rate, supported network, reward asset and withdrawal controls. A higher headline does not establish better solvency or lower risk.
