XRPL On Chain Activity in 2026: Transactions, Accounts, and AMM TVL by the Numbers
The XRP Ledger recorded 1,129,970 transactions on 19 July 2026, its last full UTC day, and burned just 221.47 XRP in fees, about $241 at the CoinGecko price of $1.089. The network crossed 8,000,688 funded accounts on 16 July and holds 12,702,095 XRP across 29,891 AMM pools. Average cost per transaction: 0.000196 XRP, about $0.000213, a fraction of a cent.
Where these numbers come from
Every figure was pulled on 20 July 2026 from sources anyone can query: the public XRPScan metrics API (daily series per full UTC day), the official Mainnet public server (server_info at 10:11 UTC: validated ledger 105,725,901, base fee 0.00001 XRP, base reserve 1 XRP), and CoinGecko's snapshot of 20 July 2026 (XRP at $1.089, market cap $68,044,541,326, circulating supply 62,466,503,703 XRP). The last complete day, 19 July 2026, is the reference day throughout.

Daily transactions: 1.1 to 1.5 million a day
The reference day saw 1,129,970 transactions settle across 20,733 ledgers, an average close of 4.17 seconds, about 13.1 transactions per second around the clock. That was the quiet end of the range: the 7 days to 19 July totaled 8,906,847 transactions (1,272,407 per day), and the 30 day average was 1,452,903 per day, roughly 16.8 per second.
Of the day's transactions, 872,414 validated with a success result, a 77.2% rate; the rest recorded failure codes, commonly offers that could not cross at their price. Their fees burn regardless of outcome.
What is the traffic? Mostly trading. OfferCreate transactions, orders on the ledger's native order book DEX, accounted for 584,986 of the day (51.8%). Payments were 327,497 (29.0%), offer cancellations 107,120 (9.5%), account settings 38,635, NFT offer creations 31,487, trust lines 14,856. The Payment slice moved 139,849,806 XRP, about $152.3 million at $1.089.
Accounts: 8 million funded, growth slower than 2025
On 16 July 2026 the XRP Ledger crossed 8,000,688 live funded accounts, per XRPScan data. XRPScan's daily series sums to 8,681,355 accounts created since January 2013, so roughly 680,000 have been deleted. Because every funded account must hold the 1 XRP base reserve, the account base itself locks at least 8,000,688 XRP, about $8.7 million at $1.089.
Growth is steady but slower than last year: 1,598 new accounts on 19 July, 1,930 per day over the trailing week, 2,648 per day over 30 days. The year opened at 7,466,236, so 2026 has added about 534,000. Against the roughly 4,800 per day of late 2025, the funnel has halved even as the total sets records.
One full day of XRPL fees vs one SWIFT wire
Here is the calculation nobody else publishes: take the whole reference day, every transaction from every user, bot, and exchange, and total the cost.
221.470427 XRP burned ÷ 1,129,970 transactions = 0.000196 XRP per transaction
221.470427 XRP × $1.089 = $241.18 for the whole day
0.000196 XRP × $1.089 = $0.000213 per transaction
The entire ledger, a full 24 hours and 1,129,970 transactions, cost $241.18. Major US banks charge about $25 to $50 in posted fees for a single outgoing international wire, before exchange rate markup, per NerdWallet. One day of the whole network therefore equals five to ten individual wire fees; one hour of it burned 9.23 XRP, or $10.05, less than half the cheapest wire.
And the actual burn overstates the necessary cost. The average paid fee of 0.000196 XRP is 19.6 times the 0.00001 XRP protocol minimum, because wallets pad fees for reliability and some transaction types cost more. At the minimum, the day's arithmetic is 1,129,970 × 0.00001 XRP = 11.2997 XRP, or $12.31 for the entire day: less than a single wire fee at the low end.
| Cost item | XRP | USD at $1.089 |
|---|---|---|
| Average fee per XRPL transaction | 0.000196 | $0.000213 (0.021 cents) |
| One hour of the whole network, actual | 9.23 | $10.05 |
| Full day, all 1,129,970 tx at protocol minimum | 11.2997 | $12.31 |
| One outgoing international wire, posted fee | n/a | $25 to $50 |
| Full day, all 1,129,970 tx, actual burn | 221.47 | $241.18 |
| XRPL transactions one $25 wire fee buys | 117,129 at the average fee | |

Fee burn and supply: spam control, not scarcity
XRPL fees are destroyed, not paid to validators, permanently reducing total supply. The 7 day average burn was 250.36 XRP per day, the 30 day average 303.87. Against CoinGecko's circulating supply of 62,466,503,703 XRP, burning even 1% (624,665,037 XRP) would take about 6,800 years at 250 XRP per day. As our burn rate analysis showed, the burn is spam control with a rounding error effect on supply, and this week's data confirms it.
AMM pools: 29,891 pools, 12.7 million XRP locked
The XRP Ledger's native AMM, live since 2024, counted 29,891 pools on 19 July 2026, holding 12,702,095 XRP on the XRP side of the pairs, worth $13.83 million at $1.089. Because an AMM pool by design holds roughly equal value on each side, doubling the XRP side gives an estimated total TVL of roughly $27.7 million. That rests on the balanced pool assumption; the measured figure is the XRP side.
The growth pattern is telling. On 20 July 2025 XRPScan counted 21,267 pools with 12,614,552 XRP locked. Pool count is up 40.6% year over year, XRP locked only 0.7%: creators keep launching small token pairs while net new capital stays flat. AMM usage is also modest next to the order book: 1,238 AMM transactions on the reference day (1,010 deposits, 169 withdrawals, 45 votes, 13 creates, 1 bid) against 584,986 offer placements. If you are weighing LP positions, our AMM fee and impermanent loss breakdown and the XRPL DeFi ecosystem guide apply directly to these numbers.
What the numbers actually say
Mid 2026 XRPL is a busy settlement and trading network with negligible fee friction: 13 to 17 transactions per second, 8 million funded accounts, $152 million of XRP moved by payments in a day, a total daily fee bill of $241.18. Two honest caveats: account growth has roughly halved from last summer's pace, and AMM capital is flat even as pool count climbs.
The asymmetry: using XRPL costs effectively nothing; doing nothing with XRP does not. Moving 10,000 XRP costs a fraction of a cent; leaving it idle on an exchange forgoes every unit of yield it could earn, year after year. The protocol solved the fee side. The yield side is a choice, and the options are compared in our guide to earning yield on XRP.
These are dated snapshots from public APIs, not forecasts; rerun the same queries later and the numbers will differ. Crypto prices are volatile, custody involves counterparty risk, and no yield is guaranteed.
Put idle XRP to work
Moving XRP costs 0.021 cents. Leaving it parked on an exchange at 0% costs the entire return it could be generating. XORA deposits currently earn up to 22% APY value (15% native XRP yield, treasury subsidised during a disclosed bootstrap, plus estimated XORA reward value). Rates and reward value can change, the reward component is estimated token value rather than native XRP, and the custody model and safeguards are documented on the security page. Run your balance through the XRP yield calculator to see what a year of activity, rather than idleness, looks like.
FAQ
How many transactions does the XRP Ledger process per day in 2026?
On 19 July 2026, the last full UTC day measured, the XRP Ledger recorded 1,129,970 transactions across 20,733 ledgers. The 30 day average was 1,452,903 per day, roughly 13 to 17 transactions per second (XRPScan metrics API, 20 July 2026).

The bottom line
The XRP Ledger's mid 2026 numbers describe a network where settlement is effectively free and constantly used: over a million transactions a day for about $241 in total fees. If your XRP sits idle on an exchange, the network is not what is costing you; the 0% is. xora.finance is where XRP goes to work, earning up to 22% APY value instead of nothing, with the yield source and risks disclosed up front.
